Laser Writing
← Back to HomeProject Description
Imagine a laser writing on a piece of paper: each letter is burned and smoke is produced. The text is tailored to geeky and nerdy engineers but it can be customized... if you can manupulate the JS code!
Initial Prompt
I want to build an app in p5.js that simulates a laser writing on a piece of paper. There should be a cursor writing each letter one by one. Each letter would produce smoke like it's burned on paper. Separately, I asked Claude 4.0: Generate 100 sentences that a software engineer will find amusing. Explore jokes, paradoxes, surprising fact, fun facts and more categories. Output a plain list of sentences, one after the other on new lines.
Lessons Learned
- What worked: I like the smoke right away and the orange letter is a nice touch that I did not explicitly ask for. Good job Gemini!
- What needed help: I had to prompt several times to make the justification work. Initially AI did not think that truncating the words was a bed idea. Then, justification was taken too literally and short text would expand to fill the space. I had to prompt again to make it work.
