Fireflies

Project Description

Speak to the fireflies and get inspired by their beautiful dance.

Initial Prompt

Let's build a fully local app in an HTML page in javascript. The app shows a swarm of particles that move around in screen at random but, when the user inputs some text, the particles fly to the center of screen and form a the given text.

Lessons Learned

  • What worked: This was visually beautiful from the very beginning. The final product is fun and exciting.
  • What needed help: Sonnet could not get particles to spread out after the inital animation. Gemini 2.5 to the rescue, it got it right and unblocked me. Performance is still an issue, I found it hard to make it run fast on mobile phones.
